Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has offered Boniface Murage, man charged with attempting to smuggle his baby out of KNH over Sh56,000 bill, a job.

This is according to the People Daily’s twitter handle.

The accused was on Sunday caught trying to smuggle his daughter out of the Hospital using a carrier bag.

Mr. Murage pleaded guilty to charges leveled against him, saying he was unable to pay the Sh56,000 medical bill.

“I feared that my daughter and my beloved wife would be detained at KNH for long since I could not raise the bill." said Murage during a court hearing at Milimani on Monday.

Suspended sentence

On Tuesday Magistrate Caroline Nzibe handed Boniface Murage a three-month suspended sentence.

Murage will now be on State watch for three months and he is expected not to commit any other crime or else he will be put on custodial sentence.

Governor Sonko on Monday led his team to Kenyatta National hospital and cleared the bill amounting to Sh56, 937.

Murage’s child was admitted on January 26 and discharged on February 11 but he was unable to pay the hospital bill.
