Royal Media Services Citizen TV Managing Director Wachira Waruru has wrote to Director of Public Prosecution concerning the murder case facing his employee Jacque Maribe.
In statement released on Thursday, the MD said that Maribe’s record at work since she joined the company for the past six years is exemplary proven.
“Maribe has had a clean record while in the employment of the company,” read the statement in part.
Mr. Waruru confirmed that Maribe is still an employee of the company, clearing thoughts that the company had fired her following the case.
“We want to confirm that Jacqueline Wanjiru Maribe is an employee of Royal Media Services Limited and has taken leave to attend to personal issues.” He said.
He added that the company recommends for her release on bail since she cannot do anything against the law.
“Having engaged her for the last six years, and assessing her performance, we vouch for her character and recommend for her admission to bail,”
On Wednesday, Ms Maribe and Mr Irungu were remanded until Tuesday when their bail application will be determined.
State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki said Maribe should not appear on screen as she would influence witnesses in the murder case.
Ms. Mwaniki added that Maribe should be grounded so she does not mingle with the public.
However, Maribe's lawyer Katwa Kigen said she has cooperated and such should guide the court's decision.
