First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has said that she is greatly honoured for commissioning the state-of-the-art ‘Margaret Kenyatta Mother Baby Wing’ at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

The First Lady spoke after unveiling Sh450 million Mother-Baby Wing on Wednesday.

“Had the great honour of commissioning the state-of-the-art 'Margaret Kenyatta Mother Baby Wing' at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital…” read part her twit.

The colourful event was hosted by Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui.

Counties to benefit from this initiative include Bomet, Baringo, Narok, Kericho, Samburu, Laikipia, and Nyandarua.

The maternity wing is the second biggest in the country after Nairobi’s Pumwani Hospital.

According to Nakuru Level Five medical superintendent Joseph Mburu the current maternity wing at the hospital is overstretched, which force pregnant mothers to share beds.
