The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has operationalized a new revenue collection platform for Nairobi City County Government.
The system, dubbed Nairobi Revenue System (NRS), is an initiative of the National Government, in partnership with the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and KRA.
NRS aims at having an integrated single revenue collection system and its design can be customized to suit other Counties’ specific revenue collection needs.
The system will enhance service delivery by having simple and easy-to-use system features and providing timely information to customers on the status of their requests and applications.
KRA said NRS is available for use by both new applications and renewals of services such as customer registration and account creation, payment for Parking Fees, Market Cess, applications, and renewals of Trade Licence, as well as Applications for Food Handlers Certificate for both individual and non-individual).
NRS is being deployed in phases with more services set to be availed in the coming days.
To access services through the NRS, customers are required to create an account on the NRS portal using the link https://nairobiservices.go.ke or download the Nairobi e-Services mobile app from Google Play Store.
To create an account, a customer is required to register with their National or Alien ID number, KRA PIN, and other details for validation and account security purposes. NRS services are also available on USSD via *647#.
However, Market Cess and payment of daily on-street parking fees will not require customer account creation on NRS.
The NRS is a robust and integrated revenue management system leveraging modern technology to offer integrated customer touchpoints (USSD, mobile app, web portal), online Services, and simplified customer interfaces to cater to different demographics.
It also offers an inbuilt payment System that enables a customer to make payments on the system through various payment methods such as Mobile Money, VISA cards, and bank transfer.
