Dar es Slam has recorded 38 of the 53, 10 from Zanzibar while Kilimanjaro, Pwani, Lindi and Kagera have recorded 1 case each.

All the cases are from the cities general population.

The country has so far recorded 5 deaths and 11 recoveries.

Honourable Mwalimu in a statement to newsrooms stated that the patients have already been put under treatment and contact tracing is underway for the persons who came into close contact with the victims.

Tanzania's president John Pombe Magufuli recently urged Tanzanians to pray individually for the country in a bid to beat the pandemic which has caused turmoil and panic across the globe.
