Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard can now make his first
signing once the January Transfer window is open.
This is after the club’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration
for Sports (CAS) went successful, overturning
a transfer ban issued last summer.
The blues were given a two-window ban for breaking youth
transfer rules, and half of the ban has already been served.
In its verdict, FIFA disciplinary and appeal committees
stated that Chelsea violated rules protecting minors from trafficking on 150 occasions,
involving 70 players.
The club was also charged for breaking rules prohibiting
third-party influence on players, and fined Sh. 46,700,000.
Lampard can now prepare his shopping list to add on last
signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund and Mateo Kovasic from Real
Madrid in January.
